GSTEP: Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Program​
The Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Program (GSTEP) designed for UNT graduate students. The course focuses on a variety of topics related to university teaching and student learning.

  2. Develop a lesson plan to implement in a higher education setting.
  3. Implement a teaching a plan in a higher education setting.
  4. Develop as a higher education professional.

The GSTEP student teaching practicum requires students to teach in a higher education course. Students are to select and observe a course, design a lesson plan, implement their lesson plan, and evaluate and critically reflect on their teaching experience. 
The following lesson was designed for UNT course Math 1351: Math for Elementary Teachers II.  The course covers concepts of geometry, probability and statistics, as well as applications of the algebraic properties of real numbers to concepts of measurement with an emphasis on problem-solving and critical thinking.
